Chapter Diversity Statement
The Beta Theta Pi Epsilon Delta Chapter at Cal Poly commits to leading a community that is tolerant of others and respects the values of diversity. We believe in our Fraternity’s values of Mutual Assistance, Intellectual Growth, Trust, Responsible Conduct, and Integrity. When considering new members, we place enormous weight on the content of someone's character. We believe that the Fraternity’s mission, “To develop men of principle for a principled life” is a call to action for all brothers to consistently strive to make our world a better place for all people.
We believe that diversity in race, nationality, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic class, thought, experience, and capabilities are crucial to successful discourse and in combating ever-evolving challenges. As individuals and as a chapter, we strive to understand, educate, and appreciate the value of diversity and what it can offer to our school and community. We recognize that every individual is unique and, with that, can bring a unique perspective to the table. We also recognize that as a community there is always room for growth, education, discussion, and acceptance.
